Urdang Academy’s 3rd Year Company presents musical Legally Blonde

These are the Urdang’s LINK shows, in order to preview the next up and coming West End performing stars, to talent scouts, agents and members of the public.

At the Pleasance Theatre, a lovely heritage theatre, in North London

I saw these budding young performers in the musical of LEGALLY BLONDE.
This musical is based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name.

It tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrols at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner.

The main character role was played by Hayley Johnson with her good singing voice played the Blonde Elle Woods. Warner Hunting II by Andy Rose with matching power was outstanding and Gabbrielle Jones was also able to deliver a high standard.

Dance Captain Amella-Rose Fielding along with vocal captain Miranda Dobson did a brilliant job.

2017

Legally Blonde
Thursday 2nd February (2.30pm & 7.30pm)

The musical is based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name.
It tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrols at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner.

The Drowsy Chaperone
Tuesday 7th February (7.30pm)
Wednesday 8th February (2.30pm)

The story concerns a middle-aged, asocial musical theatre fan; as he plays the record of his favourite musical, the (fictional) 1928 hit The Drowsy Chaperone,
the show comes to life on-stage as he wryly comments on the music, story, and actors.

Rent
Monday 13th February (2.30pm & 7.30pm)

The story of a group dealing with love, loss, AIDS, and modern day life in one truly powerful story.
Based on Puccini's 'La Boheme', 'Rent' tells the story of one year in the life of friends living the Bohemian life in modern day East Village, New York City, 1989-1990.

The Pajama Game
Friday 17th February (7.30pm)

The Pajama Game is a lively musical based on the novel 7 1/2 Cents by Richard Bissell.
The story deals with labour troubles in a pajama factory, where workers demands for a seven-and- a-half cent raise are going unheeded.

Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA)

Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) to deliver a youth engagement programme in March aimed at 16-24 year olds who are not currently in education, employment or training.

Participants will spend 2 weeks exploring the history of Tottenham High Road with trained archaeologists and learning about local buildings – with a focus on 810 High Road.

The course is free and will provide a great opportunity for picking up heritage skills.

Young people will create presentations based on their learning and these will be publicly displayed in MOLA’s
Time Truck at the end of March.

I've attached further info – if you know of any individuals or youth organisations that may be interested, please pass it on.
