The journey commenced with tributes from five of the largest movie houses in the business. They even had an Urdang golden movie logo which matched the Columbia, Warner Bros and 20th Century Fox introductions to start the show.

We got to see the blockbusters previews which would be opening soon this summer and the students danced to celebrate the box office magic of today and the past.

With pop-corn in hand we watched choreography by Alan Burkitt, Connor Tidman, Dean Lee, Greg McPherson Steward, Eve Mawhinney, Stuart Goodwin,    Philip Michael Thomas, Matthew Cole, Nathan NEO Gordon, Regan Shepherd, James Peters, Paul Hack, Lynnsey McDougall, Michael Fellows & Stephanie Taylor each choreographer using their skills to the highest standards.
They shared all the styles from Fantasy, Horror, and Romance to Science fiction to name a few.

Who Gabby Think He Is?

Attending the U.K launch of this book at the Barbados High Commission in London.

The Author Barbara Chase told us how she had, worked on the book. Explained how she had carried out many, many interviews. Barbara was singing some of his songs. She told us how she was still very much inspired and would like to write a part two for this book because
she feels there's so much more to be covered.
Gabby, himself could not be there but we did watch a recorded link from him.

His brother was, live in the room and he told us a little more of what they had got up to as boys. There were two readings from the book and a Q&A session.

The book presents the life story of this dynamism man, the Mighty Gabby. It gives an overview of his life from birth to present; his musical life; his contribution to folk songs and calypso; his acting, sporting life and continuing service to community including the youth.

Le vent (ballet super slow motion)

I hope everyone is taking a little time out to relax and treat themselves to some, me time.
I did that, within the Grange Hotel.
The Ajala spa is a must, a luxury collection of day spas.
Offering a comprehensive range of holistic and beauty treatments.

You could seek an indulgent all-day spa experience, or maybe you just want
to rejuvenate your mind and relax yourself.
They also have a range of Health, Fitness and Leisure facilities including
a generously-sized swimming pool.

A great day out.
Or
Just get yourself a cup of tea and sit back and watch Le vent. Enjoy!

Open City

This week I was invited to hear curator Nick Aikens talk about his life and books. He also graced us with a reading from his book Open City which was brilliant; and can be found on Amazon.

He is also the author of Blind Spot another must read book.

This was a very interesting evening at the Delfina Foundation, Catherine Place. London.
