Urdang 3 rd Year
Musical Presentations
Going to see an Urdang show
is always a real treat. The season has started to have a preview of who the
next west end performing stars could be.
I went to see some of these
budding young performers in the show 42nd Street Show at the Pleasance Theatre.
This is how they get to show off their talents in acting, dancing and singing.
This show has a good deal of tap dancing, so they have to be real hoofers.
Lillian Reeves (Dance
Captain) and Marianna Macari-Ferris (Vocal Captain) did an outstanding job in
making sure that all the students, in this cast of thirty, performed to their
best. Keeping everyone in line is no easy task.
The staring roles were all
performed very well. The main character Dorothy Brock was played by Katerina Shadbolt
was outstanding and Peggy Sawyer was also delivering to a high standard.
Julian Marsh was portrayed by
Ashley Woellner who has a strong singing voice and acted well.
Lauren Gray also stood out
for role as Maggie Jones.
The entire ensemble carried
the musical with brilliant understanding of what it was taking to focus on.
We can look forward to bright
future with this group of students, when they finish their training later on
this year.
